In a landmark judgment, the Kuala Lumpur High Court has declared that the Kedah state seat of Kota Siputeh is vacant and that Datuk Abu Hassan Sarif is no longer a state assemblyman. Justice Alizatul Khair Osman has also issued an order for the Election Commission to call for a by-election for the state seat.
However, two parties, namely the Election Commission (EC) and UMNO have filed an appeal to contest the High Court's ruling.
To follow up with the High Court's decision on the Kota Siputeh state seat, the Klik4Malaysia team interviewed Datuk Hafarizam Harun, UMNO Legal Adviser and YB Khalid Samad, Shah Alam MP, to share their thoughts on the possible by-election in Kota Siputeh.
